About Library
The library Government First Grade College Hungund was established on 27th of April 2007 in a small room in the old campus of Teacher Training Institute Vidyanagar. Presently the college has independent building behind mini Vidhanasoudha, Currently the library building is construction it can accommodates Librarian chamber; Magazine stands as a reading room with 100 student’s capacity.
The main motto of GFGC Hungund library is having better collection and services for students and faculties. The users can suggest the required best books and other resources for the library in strengthening the good collection: The books may be procured once the grant released by the department.
The library Committee plays a vital role in planning and executing the activities of the library – purchase of books/journals/ CDs and cassettes / online resources/furniture/reprographic facility / programs for library association. The oral and written feedback of the students and the staff has helped in making the library user friendly. The college has in housed library building. It is fully automated by using e-granthalaya 4.0 software. The data entry of books, bar coding is completed. The library has more than 9197 thousand collections of books, good number of periodicals like newspaper, journals and magazines are subscribed to eater the information needs of student as well as faculty members. The entire library is automated. Each book has its own unique barcode, this allows for easy tracking of books in the library and its distribution to the students and staff members.
